Magnesium
(Mg) is the material of the lowest density
out of all structural alloys. Mg is superior
in strength to any highly polymerized compound
material of similar density and good for high
temperature application. In addition, Mg is
a pro-environment material with its recyclable
property. Since Mg is about 35% lighter than
Aluminum alloy (specific gravity of Mg - 1.79
to 1.81) and has excellent mechanical property
for structural material, the demand of Mg
is expanding in the parts industry such as
notebook computer, housing of MD, DVD or CD
and seat-frame or steering wheel of automobile.
Other
advantages of Mg alloy are excellent electronic
wave shielding, excellent vibration and shock
absorption and superiority in electricity
and heat conductibility, machinability and
fatigue property.
However,
the problem of Mg alloy is that it is hard
to be cast due to fast oxidization and solidification
speed. The most economical and efficient casting
method for Mg alloy is known the hot-chamber
die-casting.
According
to the demand of Mg and the tendency of Mg
casting, Samil Die-Cast has developed Hot
Chamber Die-Casting Machine for Mg alloy.
Hot Chamber
Die-Casting Machine is the most appropriate
casting method for Mg, which has fast solidification
property, by casting through Goose Neck at
the complete liquid state of Mg alloy. Hot
Chamber Die-Casting Machine also has high
productivity with the fast cycling time.
